Revolut×Visa France first: AI-enabled bill payment via Passkey — not yet available in the app
Revolut and Visa have completed their first Passkey-based AI bill payment in France: Visa tested an agent, “My Agent,” which uses a French Revolut spending card to place an order with Cleverbridge.
No card number was entered at checkout, and no OTP was prompted—payment goes through Visa Payment Passkey, with the same underlying Tokenization and real-time anti-fraud measures. Users must authorize in advance and set the payment boundaries; the issuing endpoint is still acknowledged by Revolut.
Don’t read the news as “the app already lets AI charge your card.” The official wording is that it’s a controlled pilot—functionality hasn’t been enabled in the Revolut app yet. It bypasses the SCA challenge in Europe, but it doesn’t bypass prior authorization.
“Can pay on your behalf” ≠ “already live for you to use.”
