At two-thirty in the morning, my phone kept ringing. A friend from Fujian kept sending voice messages, sounding flustered:
"Sister Anxin, I opened a long position with 10x leverage on my entire 10,000 USDT, and after a 3% pullback, the money is gone. What happened?"
I checked his trading record and saw that he went all in with 9,500 USDT, without even setting a stop-loss.
Many people mistakenly believe that "going all in = holding on", but in fact, the opposite is true—using all in poorly leads to faster losses than using partial positions.
1. The key to blowing up an all-in position: it’s not leverage, it’s position size
Taking a 1,000 USDT account as an example:
If you open 900 USDT with 10x leverage, a 5% reverse movement will wipe you out;
But opening 100 USDT with 10x leverage requires a 50% movement to blow up.
My friend put in 95% of his capital with 10x leverage, and a slight pullback wiped him out.
2. Three principles that allowed me to go all in for six months without blowing up and still doubling my money
1. Single trades should not exceed 20% of total funds
For a 10,000 USDT account, the maximum investment in one trade is 2,000 USDT.
Even if you make a wrong directional bet and a stop-loss at 10%, you will only lose 200 USDT, not harm the principal, and can recover at any time.
2. Single losses must never exceed 3% of total funds
For example, if you open 2,000 USDT with 10x leverage, setting a stop-loss at 1.5% means a loss of 300 USDT is exactly 3% of total funds.
Even if you make several mistakes, it won’t seriously harm your capital.
3. Do not open positions in volatile markets, do not add to profits
Only trade in trending breakout markets; even if the sideways market is tempting, remain observant;
Once you open a position, never increase your investment, eliminating emotional interference.
3. The true use of going all in: it's a buffer, not gambling
The original intention of going all in is to leave room for error in volatility, but the premise must be light positions for trial and strict risk control.
Previously, a fan experienced monthly blow-ups, but after implementing these three rules, he rolled from 5,000 USDT to 8,000 USDT in three months.
He said: "I used to think going all in was like gambling with my life, but now I understand that going all in is about living more steadily."
Survival in the crypto world is not about who makes money faster, but about who lasts longer.
Bet less on direction, control positions more, slow is fast.
I never boast, I only trade in real markets. The trading team still has spots available; if you want to turn things around, I can help you get on board.
