The old man's daughters-in-law certainly cursed him for such a setup)

Once upon a time in the mountains of Chositsya, there lived an old man who was left alone between two wicked daughters-in-law. The women, forgetting about kindness, made the frail father-in-law carry water, chop wood, and herd sheep in the blizzard, feeding him only with stale flatbreads and dried yak blood. The old man grew weaker and, seeing that he had almost no strength left, sent the caravan drivers with a message to his daughter.
The daughter, upon hearing of her father's troubles, cried bitterly and sent him a clay brick with a hidden compartment — a precious turquoise. The old man understood the hint: not to sell it, but to use it wisely. He showed the stone to each daughter-in-law in turn, promising to leave it "after his death." From that time on, both began to take care of him, trying to deserve the inheritance.
When his last hour came, the old man hid the turquoise back in the brick, placed it at the end of a beam that protruded over the hearth, and left a riddle: "The dragon stretches over the water like a bridge..."
The daughters-in-law never found the treasure. But the wise daughter, coming to say goodbye, looked into the water, saw the reflection of the beam-"dragon" and found the brick. Thus, the turquoise returned to the one who truly loved the old man.
Moral: In the crypt, as in life, value is seen by those who know how to look deeper — others merely chase after easy gain.
