MICROSTRATEGY ADMITS FOR THE FIRST TIME IT COULD SELL BTC IN AN EMERGENCY 🔸 MicroStrategy CEO Phong Le confirmed they could sell some of their 649,870 BTC if they were in an extremely stressful financial situation to protect shareholders 🔸 This is in stark contrast to Chairman Michael Saylor’s “never sell” philosophy and shows that previous skepticism about this statement was well-founded. 🔸 CEO Phong Le said they only sell BTC when two conditions occur ➤ MicroStrategy's market value is lower than the value of the BTC they are holding (mNAV below 1x) ➤ The company cannot raise more capital through issuing shares or borrowing 🔸 MicroStrategy has to pay about $750 to $800 million in preferred dividends each year, which they used to pay through issuing shares, but now the stock price has fallen sharply, making this method more difficult. MicroStrategy's stock operates a bit like a leveraged Bitcoin ETF. 🔸 This means the likelihood of MicroStrategy randomly selling BTC is low, but if they were forced to sell, the market would almost certainly be in a state of extreme panic and the selling would make the situation worse. $BTC
