The Hashgraph Group, the company behind Hedera technology, has announced a strategic partnership with PwC Switzerland and Germany to develop new ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) solutions based on the Hedera network.
The goal is to improve the transparency, verifiability, and traceability of sustainability data used by businesses and governments.
The core of the initiative is EcoGuard, a platform built on Hedera that leverages the native HBAR token to power the verification, validation, and compliance operations of ESG data.
This allows organizations to certify environmental metrics – such as CO₂ emissions, energy consumption, or supply chain practices – with immutable and real-time consultable data.
Thanks to the Hashgraph architecture, Hedera ensures fast transactions, reduced costs, and a minimal ecological footprint compared to traditional blockchains, fundamental values in a sustainability-oriented context.
PwC, for its part, will provide expertise in ESG reporting and compliance, combining its experience in environmental consulting with the technological power of DLT.
