Crypto Terms Explained #2 โ€” What Is a Crypto Wallet? ๐Ÿ”

If youโ€™ve started learning about crypto, youโ€™ve probably heard people say โ€”

> โ€œKeep your crypto safe in your wallet.โ€

But what exactly is a crypto wallet? ๐Ÿค”

A crypto wallet is a digital tool that lets you store, send, and receive your crypto safely.

It doesnโ€™t actually โ€œholdโ€ your coins โ€” it stores your private keys, which prove that the crypto belongs to you.

There are two main types of wallets:

๐Ÿ’ป Hot Wallets โ€“ connected to the internet (easier to use, like Trust Wallet or Binance Wallet)

๐ŸงŠ Cold Wallets โ€“ offline and more secure (like hardware wallets such as Ledger or Trezor)

๐Ÿ”‘ Your wallet = your control.

If you lose your private keys, your crypto is gone โ€” no bank or support team can recover it.

Thatโ€™s why we always say:

> โ€œNot your keys, not your crypto.โ€
