The world is changing, and we must accept it, or reconcile ourselves with the limitations. If we want to use Binance, completing KYC will be mandatory. How to do it quickly and without pain?

📋 KYC: you can't do without it anymore
Why do you actually need to show a scan of your ID to trade crypto? It's not just a whim of Binance. It's a process required by regulators to allow the exchange to remain compliant with regulations. It aims to combat money laundering and terrorism financing. For advocates of crypto anonymity, this is like a red rag to a bull. Unfortunately, the choice is simple - if you don't want to reveal your identity, you don't use Binance. The choice is yours.
Without completing identity verification, you currently cannot set up a functioning account on this exchange. Activating Binance services, including trading and transfers, requires at least basic identity verification.
✅ Preparation for the procedure
Verification is quick if you pay attention to the details. Document scanning algorithms immediately reject erroneous applications. To ensure a quick passage through the procedure, prepare a starter kit:
Important identity document: preferably an ID card, possibly a passport or driver's license. Make sure the document is current.
Smartphone with the Binance app: the app is faster and handles biometric verification more efficiently than a PC + webcam setup.
Place to take the photo: choose a bright room with even lighting - reflections and shadows are the most common reasons for photo rejection.
Stable internet: the process requires submitting photos and a video. Interrupting the transfer will force you to repeat the operation.
🔄 Step-by-step procedure
The KYC process on Binance, although rigorous, is efficient. It usually takes only a few minutes, although you may wait for a response from one to 48 hours.
After logging into your Binance account and going to the Identification section, the process takes place in three phases.
Entering data. The system will ask you to enter your first name, last name, and date of birth if you haven't done so already. Note: enter the data exactly as they appear in your document, using Polish characters (ą, ę, ł, ó, ż, ź, ć, ń).
Scanning the document. Choose the type of document (ID card, passport, driver's license). Then upload photos of both sides (ID and driver's license). The photo must be clear, readable, and uncropped. Place the document on a uniform background, e.g., a white sheet of paper.
Biometric verification. The system will check if you are a real person and not just a clever bot. Remove glasses or a hat. Follow the instructions on the screen: they may include, for example, moving your head.
And now, after the pain. Now you wait for the acceptance of your application. And if you still have doubts, check out Binance instructions.

⚠️ If something went wrong
What to do if after some time you receive an email stating your application was rejected? Don't worry, it's most often a technical issue.
The most common reasons for verification failure:
Spotlight effect: key information may be obscured due to light reflections or shadows. Turn off the flash, change the lighting, and try again.
Cropping: one of the corners of the document is missing in the photo. Repeat the photo without the error, avoiding distortions. Use a uniform, contrasting background.
Data inconsistency: most often a lack of Polish characters or the reversal of the order of names. Solution: check the data character by character and resubmit your application.
🚀 Success! What's next?
Once approved, your account is already verified - trading and other operations are possible. Now we can take a step further.
Strengthen your protection. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) – this is another layer of account security, protecting funds from unauthorized access.
Link your Binance account to your ZEN account. This will allow you to easily deposit and withdraw PLN.
If you are trading large amounts, you can achieve Verified Plus status. This will require submitting proof of address but will significantly raise your daily fiat withdrawal limit and crypto transfers.
Log in to Binance and make your first transaction.
📜 Binance users and MiCA
It is worth noting that from January 2025, Binance Poland has introduced new procedures to comply with the MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) regulation. These changes only affect crypto transactions:
deposits above €1,000 (equivalent): users must provide information about the sender.
withdrawals regardless of the amount: users must provide information about the owner of the destination wallet.
Personally, this is an annoying requirement for me, but it's hard to blame Binance for EU requirements.
