According to PANews, OpenAI has announced plans to expand its 'Stargate' data center infrastructure by adding five new sites over the next three years, providing a total power capacity of 7 gigawatts. This announcement was made at OpenAI's flagship site in Abilene, Texas, with partners including Oracle and SoftBank. The new sites will be located in Lordstown, Ohio; Shackelford and Milam, Texas; Doña Ana, New Mexico; and an undisclosed location in the Midwest. OpenAI stated in a blog post that the company is evaluating additional sites, and these new locations have allowed it to complete its original plan ahead of schedule. By the end of 2025, OpenAI expects to secure investment commitments of $500 billion and 10 gigawatts of power.
