🇨🇳🔥 HUAWEI LAUNCHES A THREE-YEAR PLAN TO OVERTAKE NVIDIA IN THE AI CHIP MARKET 🔥🇨🇳
Huawei has announced an extremely ambitious three-year plan: to surpass Nvidia in the artificial intelligence chip market.
At the heart of the strategy is the development of the Ascend range, designed to compete with Nvidia's GPUs in data centers and generative AI systems.
The plan includes three main directions: increasing semiconductor production capacity through local suppliers to reduce the impact of US sanctions, enhancing internal research with significant investments in R&D (that is, Research and Development, resources dedicated to studying and developing new technologies, products, or innovative processes), and strengthening the software ecosystem around the chips, in order to offer developers a complete platform like Nvidia's CUDA (a software environment that allows developers to program and optimize Nvidia GPUs to perform complex parallel calculations, such as those required for artificial intelligence and deep learning).
Huawei also intends to leverage the strong demand in the Chinese market, where restrictions on the import of Nvidia GPUs create huge margins for domestic players.
If the goal is achieved, within three years China would have a local champion capable of redefining the global semiconductor industry, with far-reaching economic and geopolitical consequences.
🚨WHAT TO KNOW🚨: DeepSeek is working with Huawei to develop secure AI models tailored to the Chinese context, using 1,000 Ascend chips to train a modified version of the DeepSeek model.
