ChainCatcher Message, the Singapore Police Force announced the fraud and cybercrime data for the first half of 2025. The data shows that Singaporeans lost approximately 456 million Singapore dollars due to fraud, a decrease of about 66 million Singapore dollars compared to last year. The number of fraud and cybercrime cases decreased by 21.5%, to 22,476 cases, while the same period last year had 28,625 cases.

Losses from cryptocurrency-related fraud accounted for nearly 18% of total losses, reaching 81.6 million Singapore dollars, mainly involving Tether, Bitcoin, and Ethereum. The Anti-Fraud Command also recovered 56.7 million Singapore dollars, including 17 million Singapore dollars in cryptocurrency, and worked with partners to avoid an additional potential loss of 179 million Singapore dollars.
