The $XRP Ledger (XRPL) is set to activate its Credentials amendment within hours, following validator consensus (29 in favor, 6 against), surpassing the required 28 out of 35 votes.
Introduced in version 2.3.0, the amendment allows compliance credentials such as KYC/AML attestations to be applied natively on the ledger. Institutions and users will be able to link verified compliance credentials directly to decentralized identities without external verification.
Supporters see this as a major step toward institutional adoption, enabling regulated entities to interact more easily with XRPL while signaling trust and compliance on-chain.
Once active, the amendment embeds a streamlined compliance layer into XRPL’s core protocol, enhancing trust and paving the way for broader financial integration. #xrp
