Binance serves over 150 million users. Uniswap has no office or lawyers at all, but over a trillion dollars went through it in a year. How is that possible?
• CEX (centralized exchanges) — it's like banks. You give them money, they store it and provide services: trading, deposits/withdrawals, technical support. Examples: Binance, Bybit, Coinbase.
• DEX (decentralized exchanges) — it's like a market without intermediaries. You have a wallet, I have a wallet — we exchange tokens directly through a smart contract. Examples: Uniswap, PancakeSwap.
• RWA (Real World Assets) — this is the tokenization of the 'real world': an apartment, gold, or a bond can be 'packaged' into a token. This makes them available for trading on the blockchain.
• AI in crypto — projects where artificial intelligence helps: trade, analyze, create decentralized 'smart agents'.
Why is this needed?
• CEX — convenient, like a mobile bank. Everything is simple, support is always in touch.
• DEX — needed by those who value freedom: no one will freeze your wallet, no one will ask for your passport.
• RWA — a bridge between the world of traditional finance and crypto. For example, in Africa, a farmer can buy a token of a US bond without leaving the village.
• AI — accelerates the market: smart trading bots, AI analytics, automation of trades without humans.
cons:
• CEX — there is always a risk of blocking or hacking (remember Mt.Gox).
• DEX — 'wild west': a lot of scams and 'fake' tokens, the interface often scares newcomers.
• RWA — depend on laws: you can't just tokenize an apartment without a notary and legal support.
• AI in crypto — a lot of hype: half of AI tokens grow not because of technology, but because of trends.
visualization:
• Mt.Gox (2014) — the largest CEX of its time went bankrupt, losing 850,000 BTC from users.
• Uniswap (2021) — exceeded $1 trillion in turnover without an office and support team.
• Franklin Templeton (2023) — launched a fund that tokenized US government bonds.
• Fetch.ai — one of the flagships of AI in crypto: decentralized AI agents that can trade, book tickets, search for data.
Conclusion:
Crypto today is not just about tokens and 'gambling'.
• CEX — comfort.
• DEX — freedom.
• RWA — connection to the real economy.
• AI — a new engine of progress (and bubbles).
