$SOL Solana: speed comes at a price

I am MooBee, I break down crypto in a simple and fun way. Today, we talk about Solana, the rocket of blockchains.

Solana is the hyperloop of Web3: thousands of transactions per second, minimal fees, impressive speed. But behind this speed lies a less visible flaw than its outages: the colossal weight of its history.

Every transaction must be stored. With such a throughput, Solana produces an enormous mass of data. Result: only very powerful nodes can keep up. This reduces decentralization, as small players are excluded.

Imagine a super-fast highway where 100,000 cars pass per minute. Great, but where to park them? The parking lots are saturated, and only large warehouses can accommodate them. This is the real challenge of Solana.

Solutions exist, like the “Archivers” that distribute the history in small pieces. But it's still limited and does not solve the underlying problem.

My idea: adaptive compression. Keep recent data detailed, but gradually condense the old ones into a lightweight format, while remaining cryptographically verifiable.

Conclusion: Solana's Achilles' heel is not its speed but its unmanageable history. Without innovation, only giants will keep pace. With compression solutions, Solana can remain a rocket open to all, and not a road reserved for the privileged.
