In St. Petersburg, a 25-year-old security guard of a cryptocurrency exchange service carried out a brazen robbery, stealing 11 million rubles. The incident occurred on August 16 at a business center on Chapayeva Street, 15. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the perpetrator specifically took a job at the exchange to implement his criminal plan. After waiting for only one manager to remain in the office, he sprayed pepper spray in the manager's face, took a bag with the revenue, and fled.

With the stolen funds, the man purchased a Mercedes-Benz Gelandewagen and headed to the Moscow region, hoping to hide with acquaintances. However, operatives in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia detained him at a car wash in Pavlovsky Posad. The suspect, a resident of the Tosnensky district, had a previous criminal record. A criminal case has been initiated against him under the article on robbery (part 4 of article 162 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

This case highlights the vulnerability of cryptocurrency exchanges to internal threats and the importance of enhancing security. Stay tuned for news to stay updated on events in the crypto market!
