WCT Assists Sinopec in Optimizing Production and Reducing Energy Consumption and Emissions at Intelligent Refineries

Sinopec has introduced WCT technology at a large refinery to establish an intelligent production control system. Core units within the refinery, such as atmospheric distillation, catalytic cracking, and hydrotreating, are interconnected through the WCT protocol, allowing for real-time collection of equipment operating parameters (such as reaction temperature, pressure, flow rate), product quality data, and uploading to the blockchain. Based on big data analysis on the blockchain, the production scheduling system can accurately optimize unit operations and improve product yield. For example, by optimizing the reaction conditions of the catalytic cracking unit, gasoline yield increased by 5%. Meanwhile, using energy consumption data on the blockchain, the public utility systems (such as water, electricity, and steam supply) are intelligently controlled, resulting in an overall energy consumption reduction of 8% for the refinery. Additionally, equipment maintenance information (such as maintenance time and parts replacement) is recorded on the blockchain, facilitating predictive maintenance, leading to a 30% decrease in equipment failure rates, ensuring production continuity, and providing strong support for Sinopec to enhance the economic benefits and green development levels of its refineries.
