Deep Tide TechFlow News, August 21, according to the Korea News Agency, the prosecution has conducted a closing trial in the Jeju District Court on the "Korean artist Hwang Jung-eum's embezzlement of 4.2 billion won for cryptocurrency trading" case on the same day, recommending a sentence of 3 years in prison.

It is reported that Hwang Jung-eum embezzled approximately 4.34 billion won (about 3.3 million USD) from her wholly-owned management company "Hunmin Jeongeum Entertainment" in 2022, of which 4.2 billion won was used for cryptocurrency investment.

Hwang Jung-eum has admitted to all charges during the trial and stated that she fully repaid the related amount in two installments from late May to early June this year. The final verdict of the case will be announced in September.
