I’m a post-80s, no longer young, and I can be considered an old hand in the crypto world after years of ups and downs. When I say 'old', it refers to both experience and age. Nowadays in the crypto space, any random post-80s individual could be holding assets worth tens of millions. Take Liang Xi, for example; everyone in the circle knows him: during the massive crash in 312, he dared to withstand the storm and turned 2000 into over ten million. Unfortunately, his gambling nature led to a rather unfortunate ending.
My approach is different. I entered the market with 100,000 in the early years, and now my account has also reached ten million. I’m neither the fastest nor the most aggressive, but I have a little more patience than most. The essence of the crypto world is an amusement park of emotions; most people are just tourists blindly following the crowd, either getting thrown off the ride or getting slapped in the face repeatedly. But if you can hold your horses, it’s clear that this is a treasure trove.
To make real money, I only adhere to a few principles:
First, don’t be greedy for small profits, and don’t take catastrophic risks. These seemingly simple twelve words are something that 80% of people can’t overcome in their lifetime. How many people open long positions at 75,000, get excited when it rises to 76,000, and rush to take profits, only to watch it rise to 120,000 while feeling regret? The next time they stubbornly hold on, they end up being forced to sell at a loss when it drops. Stuck in this bizarre cycle, they can never break free.
Second, I specifically choose mainstream coins that have dropped significantly and are slowly recovering. Don’t touch flashy new coins. Start with a small position to test the waters, and add more once it stabilizes. It’s a slow method, but it’s the most stable.
Third, when the trend is established, I add to my position during pullbacks. While others are desperately trying to catch the bottom, I’d rather wait until the direction is clear, even if it costs a bit more; it’s better than being caught in mid-air.
Fourth, after each wave of increases, I withdraw my principal and a portion of the profits. I let the remaining positions fluctuate and exit when the time is right, never being overly greedy. Money in my pocket is the real profit.
With this set of principles, I helped a friend who had lost over 600,000 manage his investments; in six months, not only did we recover his losses, but he also made enough to buy a family car.
This is no exaggeration. There are plenty of smart people in the crypto world, but there are very few 'genuine people' who can hold back their impulses and stay calm. While most people chase after rising prices and panic sell, if you steadily follow the trend, you can actually pick up the chips they hurriedly drop. The crypto world is unpredictable, but only genuine people can go the distance.
