A set containing over 280 Bitcoin-related domain names will be auctioned. Some of these domain names were registered shortly after the launch of cryptocurrency in 2010.

According to information from Lloyds Auctions, these domain names cover the core areas of Bitcoin, including payments, custody, exchanges, education, and infrastructure. For example, BitcoinBlockchain.com, BitcoinWallets.com, etc.

The portfolio also includes names registered for different regions, such as JapanBitcoin.com and GermanyBitcoin.com.

Lloyds' Chief Operating Officer Lee Hames stated that buyers will not only own the name but also the language of the Bitcoin digital economy.

Previously, Lloyds Auctions auctioned the record of XBT.com for $3 million, marking the latest iconic transaction related to Bitcoin domain names.

Encrypted domain names join the ranks of high-priced auctions

Sales of high-value domain names have always been a part of the internet economy, such as Voice.com sold for $30 million.

Similarly, crypto-related domain names have also experienced a similar growth trajectory. In 2014, BTC.com was sold for about $1 million. CryptoBank.com was sold for $1.35 million in recent years.

Web3 domain names are keeping pace with traditional sales

Blockchain-based Web3 domain names are emerging markets. These domain names exist as digital identities and wallet addresses, unlike conventional domain names recorded on the blockchain.

Some Web3 domain name transactions have also reached significant amounts, such as Paradigm.eth changing hands for about $1.5 million.
