American Innovation Project Launches at Jackson Hole Summit, Backed by Crypto Heavyweights

The American Innovation Project (API) officially debuted this week with its opening summit in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on August 21—an event that coincided with the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium.

The nonprofit is backed by major players in the digital asset ecosystem, including Digital Currency Group (DCG) and the Cedar Innovation Foundation, a crypto industry "dark money" group whose funders remain undisclosed. Additional support comes from Coinbase, Kraken, Andreessen Horowitz, the National Cryptocurrency Association, Paradigm, Solana Policy Institute, Stand With Crypto, and Uniswap Labs.

Mark Murphy, president of DCG, described the initiative as a bipartisan platform for engagement.

> “The American Innovation Project offers a nonpartisan forum where lawmakers, innovators, and entrepreneurs can collaborate on thoughtful, forward-looking discussions and solutions,” Murphy said.

The organization’s board is led by Kristin Smith, the former head of the Blockchain Association and now president of the Solana Policy Institute. Other board members represent DCG, Paradigm, Coinbase, and other key stakeholders.

Smith emphasized the group’s mission in her statement:

> “Our mission is simple, but urgent: We must equip America’s leaders with the knowledge, context, and tools they need as they consider timely rules and regulations that meet the moment and account for a rapidly evolving technological landscape.”

By gathering policymakers, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders under one roof, API aims to shape the next chapter of U.S. crypto regulation—at a time when the industry is demanding clarity, innovation, and global competitiveness.# crypto news 📰 ,
