In the past week, participants of the 2014 Ethereum ICO transferred cryptocurrency worth $45 million to exchanges, report analysts from Lookonchain and Onchain Lens. In particular, on August 16, one of the whales with the address 0x61b9, who had shown no activity for nine years, transferred 334.7 $ETH (~$1.5 million) to a new wallet. These assets, purchased for $104 in 2014, brought the investor a profit of 14,269 times. On August 18, another investor sent 4460 ETH (~$19 million) to the Kraken exchange, and overall during the week, the address 0x815C5 withdrew 9803 ETH (~$43.9 million). A balance of 197 ETH (~$843,900) remained.

According to CryptoQuant, in mid-August, the inflow of Ethereum to exchanges sharply increased, reaching 2.6 million ETH per day. Analysts suggest this may be related to profit-taking, preparation for volatility, or rebalancing of whale portfolios. The price of Ethereum dropped by 5.4% over the day, trading at $4294.
