🗳️ PolkaWorld Weekly OpenGov Voting Review 🗳️
This week, PolkaWorld focused on 4 follow-up proposals.
As our DV term will end on August 15, to ensure a smoother transition, we did not review new proposals. Here is our voting situation 👇
✅ #1689 Quadrivium – Polkadot-SDK Improvement (288K USDC)
polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1689…
PolkaWorld's secondary vote: AYE
Parity's comments confirmed the importance of this proposal and the team's credibility. The team also clarified the salary part, reducing the hourly wage to below $100. We believe it is reasonable to support their continued development.
❌ #1691 PlutoFramework – Retroactive Funding (142.78K USDT)
polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1691…
PolkaWorld's secondary vote: NAY
We believe treasury funds should only be used to support the core development work of the team and should not cover expenses such as social security, health insurance, and personal taxes.
The role of the treasury is not to subsidize the operational costs of the team.
✅ #1692 WAGOI – Empowering Drivers through Data Sovereignty (330K USDC) polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1692…
PolkaWorld's secondary vote: AYE
We believe WAGOI is a project worth supporting, especially since they have committed to giving back to the treasury in the future! Additionally, the team provided convincing responses to doubts regarding their development capabilities.
❌ #1697 Encode Club – Phase 3 Funding Application (128.33K USDC)
polkadot.subsquare.io/referenda/1697…
PolkaWorld's secondary vote: NAY
Although the proposal supplemented the budget table, the purposes of each category remain vague, and we still lack clear information about how many team members/resources are allocated to this proposal.
The proposal did provide data on the number of participants, community size, and activity levels for the second phase, but it did not specify how many teams would enter the Accelerator. Given that the third phase funding is primarily for launching and delivering an 8-week Polkadot Accelerator, this is crucial.
We suggest the team disclose an estimated figure indicating how many Hackathon teams are expected to convert into the Accelerator and ultimately incubate into viable, ecosystem-adaptable projects.
