🚨Breaking News! The Polkadot GigaHydration proposal has undergone significant changes! It will return 3 million DOT to the treasury! What I want to express is that the biggest message I see from this change is that the importance of @Polkadot Hub has reached an unprecedented height! What exactly has happened? Let's take a look together👇 Nico, co-founder of Velocity Labs, commented on the proposal today, stating that @hydration_net is currently one of the most successful DeFi projects on Polkadot. With Omnipool, Money Market, GigaDOT, and the upcoming HOLLAR, Hydration has not only increased its TVL by 4 times through approximately 10 million DOT incentives in the past, but also effectively attracted access from CEX and custodians, showcasing the power of stablecoin issuance and yield opportunities.💪 However, Velocity Labs believes that there is room for optimization in the scale and scope of this proposal, suggesting a more systematic strategy to achieve maximum investment returns for the Polkadot ecosystem: ✅ The original application for 5 million DOT accounts for nearly 30% of the available treasury funds, which is too large ✅ Polkadot Hub is about to launch, and DeFi incentive strategies need to be coordinated across the entire ecosystem ✅ A phased approach can avoid resource waste and duplicate efforts 🚀 Final adjustment plan: 🔸 Hydration will return 3 million DOT from the original 5 million DOT 🔸 The remaining 2 million DOT will be distributed within the next 6 months 🔸 At the same time, collaborate with Velocity, Parity, W3F, and others to develop a larger-scale ecosystem incentive plan, expected to be submitted in 3 months This adjustment not only ensures the sustainability of the Hydration incentive plan but also wins valuable time for future strategic investments in Polkadot DeFi, promoting synergies between Hydration and projects like Polkadot Hub. 🔔 As of the publication of this article, Hydration has made adjustments to the proposal (EDIT), and Velocity Labs calls on the community to reassess the proposal and adjust their votes to ensure the smooth passage of the proposal. (Please note why the change was proposed by Velocity, as Hydration's co-founder Jakub is also a co-founder of Velocity, and these two companies work very closely together.) In addition, Parity CEO Bjorn expressed support for the adjustments made by the Hydration team and the assessment actions by Velocity, looking forward to future liquidity incentives driving Hydration to gain attention and recognition in the broader DeFi field! #OpenGov #Polkadot

Nico, co-founder of Velocity Labs, commented on the proposal today, stating that @hydration_net is currently one of the most successful DeFi projects on Polkadot. With Omnipool, Money Market, GigaDOT, and the upcoming HOLLAR, Hydration has not only increased its TVL by 4 times through approximately 10 million DOT incentives in the past, but also effectively attracted access from CEX and custodians, showcasing the power of stablecoin issuance and yield opportunities.💪

However, Velocity Labs believes that there is room for optimization in the scale and scope of this proposal, suggesting a more systematic strategy to achieve maximum investment returns for the Polkadot ecosystem:

✅ The original application for 5 million DOT accounts for nearly 30% of the available treasury funds, which is too large
✅ Polkadot Hub is about to launch, and DeFi incentive strategies need to be coordinated across the entire ecosystem
✅ A phased approach can avoid resource waste and duplicate efforts

🚀 Final adjustment plan:

🔸 Hydration will return 3 million DOT from the original 5 million DOT
🔸 The remaining 2 million DOT will be distributed within the next 6 months
🔸 At the same time, collaborate with Velocity, Parity, W3F, and others to develop a larger-scale ecosystem incentive plan, expected to be submitted in 3 months

This adjustment not only ensures the sustainability of the Hydration incentive plan but also wins valuable time for future strategic investments in Polkadot DeFi, promoting synergies between Hydration and projects like Polkadot Hub.

🔔 As of the publication of this article, Hydration has made adjustments to the proposal (EDIT), and Velocity Labs calls on the community to reassess the proposal and adjust their votes to ensure the smooth passage of the proposal. A change is quietly brewing in the @Polkadot ecosystem — it's called JAM DAO 👀 This emerging builders organization is just a month old but has already begun to step onto the governance stage. How did the idea of JAM DAO come about? The JAM Prize proposed by Gavin will reward these 38 JAM implementation teams with DOT — 25% of which is unlocked immediately, and the remaining 75% is locked DOT that will unlock linearly over two years. These locked DOT represent real OpenGov voting rights. Let's do some math: For every completed development phase = 100,000 DOT If 10 teams have completed the M1 phase That means these JAM core developers already have 1 million DOT in hand If using the maximum willingness-to-vote, it equates to a governance influence of 6 million DOT 👀 This is not a "small voice" Most of these developers initially had no intention of participating in governance, They didn't come for politics — they came for the construction of JAM. But later they realized: "If we don't vote, others will make decisions for us." "If we don't shape the future, the future will be defined by others." So they began to organize, learn from each other, and participate in discussions. They will vote to represent the interests of the JAM protocol Voting for the builders' belief in the future of Web3! #dot #OpenGov #JAM

Let's do some math:

For every completed development phase = 100,000 DOT
If 10 teams have completed the M1 phase
That means these JAM core developers already have 1 million DOT in hand
If using the maximum willingness-to-vote, it equates to a governance influence of 6 million DOT 👀
This is not a "small voice"

Most of these developers initially had no intention of participating in governance,
They didn't come for politics — they came for the construction of JAM.

But later they realized: "If we don't vote, others will make decisions for us." "If we don't shape the future, the future will be defined by others."

So they began to organize, learn from each other, and participate in discussions.

They will vote to represent the interests of the JAM protocol
Voting for the builders' belief in the future of Web3!

At a meeting hosted by @lucycoulden, she posed a great question: Should we continue to encourage free proposals, or should we set clear quarterly/annual goals for everyone to base their proposals around? 🤔 Let's see how @BillLaboon responded in a technical and governance education interview with the Web3 Foundation: 👇 "I do think that OpenGov can indeed be a bit 'more like a government'—that is, with some coordination and sense of direction. But on the other hand, the process of exploring what we want to do, gathering feedback, and discovering pathways is exactly what OpenGov is about. While this process may be a bit messy, we also know that democracy itself is messy; there will be disagreements, but this is precisely how we figure out what the community truly cares about." W3F releases DV data and analysis! Discuss whether to cancel the DV plan and the next direction!Trying to achieve "decentralization" through "centralization" seems a bit contradictory. This thought has been on my mind recently when reviewing the data of the current Decentralized Voices (DV) group. We have delegated voting rights of approximately 42 million DOTs and 180,000 KSM to different DAOs in the community to enable them to play an active role in OpenGov. The original intention is clear: we hope to give responsible and deep thinking people in the Polkadot ecosystem the opportunity to truly influence governance decisions. After a year of operation, this plan has worked to some extent, although it is still imperfect. We can see that new voices, new groups, and a new culture of participation have emerged in the Polkadot governance space.
