Qubic, an AI-focused blockchain project behind this week’s 51% dominance over the Monero network, has held a community vote to determine its next target — Dogecoin (DOGE) won by a landslide over Zcash and Kaspa. Qubic’s founder Sergey Ivancheglo (aka Come-from-Beyond) revealed the result on X.
With control over more than half of Monero’s hashrate, Qubic already executed a six-block reorganization, raising alarms across the crypto landscape. In response, Kraken temporarily suspended Monero (XMR) deposits, though trading and withdrawals remain active. Qubic insisted core Monero functionality wasn’t impacted and suggested that its miners may eventually serve as the protocol’s security backbone.
