World Economic Forum Names New Interim Leaders
The World Economic Forum (WEF) has picked Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, and André Hoffmann, Vice-Chairman of Roche, as temporary co-chairs of its board.
This change comes after an internal review found no serious wrongdoing by outgoing chair Klaus Schwab.
Larry Fink will still lead BlackRock, the world’s biggest asset manager, while also helping guide the WEF.
BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) now holds around 749,000 bitcoins, worth about $85 billion, making it one of the largest Bitcoin holders.
Fink’s new role shows how traditional finance and crypto are becoming more connected.
Interestingly, Fink used to be skeptical of Bitcoin
but now he supports crypto investment products, showing how big institutions are warming up to digital assets.
