He reveals that the exchange rejects suspicious resumes daily and sometimes catches malicious individuals in the act during video calls. North Korean hackers also try to infect and infiltrate employees' computers via fake Zoom links. According to Jimmy Su, North Korean actors are the biggest threat to crypto companies today. There's no perfect way to detect North Korean applicants, but some signs include slow internet connections, translation and voice changer tools used during calls, and being consistently late. Binance also asks applicants to cover their face with their hand, which can help uncover deepfakes. Other platforms are known to ask candidates to speak negatively about Kim Jong-un, a practice considered illegal in the country. Binance claims to have never hired a North Korean applicant, but the company can't be certain, so it monitors even its current employees for suspicious behavior, tracks work hours, and productivity.
