Former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized major news outlets, saying they are twisting the story about his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He claimed the media is listening to “fired losers and really dumb people like John Bolton,” who are making it seem like any result will be a win for Russia.
On his Truth Social account, Trump disagreed with Bolton’s comment that “Putin has already won” just by agreeing to meet in the U.S. Trump joked that even if he got Moscow and Leningrad for free, the media would still say he made a bad deal.
The White House hasn’t shared a date or plan for the meeting yet, but Trump said the U.S. is “winning on everything.” He promised that the talks with Putin would help America, despite what he called “sick and dishonest” news coverage.
