According to Cryptobriefing, billionaire investor and PayPal and Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel has disclosed a 7.5% stake in biotech company ETHZilla (formerly 180 Life Sciences), which recently completed a $425 million private placement and a $156 million convertible bond issuance, with funds to be used for increasing its Ethereum holdings.
This marks Thiel's second investment in an Ethereum treasury company following his July stake in BitMine (holding 9.1%). Following the news, ATNF's stock price rose over 11% in a single day and soared 57% in after-hours trading.
