A big problem is that colleagues from Binance in the East and West do not know basic facts about the history of Russia. Although the Russians themselves also do not know their history and still use propaganda instead of historical data. It is good that #Binance automatically translates texts and it is possible to explain how things really are to a fairly wide audience from all over the world.
Firstly, such a country as Russia never existed. The modern Russian Federation emerged in 1991 after the collapse of the Soviet Union. At that time, 15 other countries that were previously part of the Soviet Union emerged, and the republics that were part of the Russian Soviet Federative Republic - Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chechnya, etc. - also declared independence. By the way, the RSFSR was the first of all republics to leave the USSR. On June 2, 1990, it adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the RSFSR.
What was before? Initially, there was the Ulus of the Golden Horde, which was renamed the Moscow Kingdom and paid tribute to the Crimean Khan until 1700. Then, during Peter's reforms from 1708 to 1721, at the initiative of the rector of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (and later the Head of the Synod (which he also invented) of the Russian Orthodox Church) Theophan Prokopovich, as part of the realization of the idea of creating a new European empire, the Moscow Kingdom was renamed the All-Russian Empire, which existed until the February Revolution of 1917. After which, the Russian Republic was created, and later the Soviet Union after the conquest wars.
And the question arises, what does the name Rus' have to do with it? The answer is - nothing. Russia has no relation to Rus', and the name was simply stolen. Because Rus' is the territory of modern Ukraine. Besides the name, much more has been stolen, desecrated, and destroyed. But that's a topic for a separate story.
As soon as the Russian Federation emerged, it continued the work of the Soviet Union and began to fight with its neighbors from the first day of its existence. Here is a small list:
1991–1993 Civil War in Georgia
1991–1993 War in Abkhazia
1992 War with Moldova - Transnistrian conflict
1992 Ossetian-Ingush conflict
1992–1997 Civil War in Tajikistan
1994–1996 First Chechen War
1999 War in Dagestan
1999–2009 Second Chechen War
2008 Russo-Georgian War
2015–2024 Russian Intervention in Syria
2014–present Russian-Ukrainian War
This is very brief. But we can talk about the real history over the weekend if you are interested.
