A programmer named Laszlo Hanyecz made the first real-world purchase using Bitcoin — he bought two pizzas from Papa John’s… for 10,000 BTC.
💡 At that time, 10,000 BTC was worth about $41 USD.
Today? That same amount is worth hundreds of millions of dollars. 😱
Since then, May 22 is celebrated as Bitcoin Pizza Day — a reminder of how far Bitcoin has come.
