Golden Financial reports that the American cryptocurrency mining company CleanSpark disclosed that some of the Bitcoin mining machines it imported from April to June 2024 were identified by U.S. Customs as being of Chinese origin, potentially facing punitive tariffs of up to $185 million. CleanSpark denies the allegations, stating that its procurement contracts and supplier documents indicate that the mining machines are not made in China and that it will firmly respond to the accusations. The report noted that the mining company IREN also faced similar controversies, involving an amount of $100 million.
