Revealing the largest Bitcoin theft in history worth 14.5 billion USD

One of the largest and most mysterious cryptocurrency thefts in history has just been revealed by blockchain analysis company Arkham Intelligence. In late December 2020, a Chinese mining group called LuBian was attacked, losing 127,426 $BTC , currently valued at nearly 14.5 billion USD.

The Silent Theft and Its Cause

The incident occurred quietly, without any reports or warnings. LuBian, one of the largest mining pools in the world at the time, suddenly disappeared from the market in February 2021. According to #arkham , the underlying cause of the theft was that LuBian's private key generation system used 32-bit entropy, an extremely low level of security, allowing attackers to easily guess the private key and access the wallet.

It is noteworthy that after nearly 5 years, the stolen Bitcoin remains "silent" in place, with no transactions. This raises many questions about the hacker's motives. On LuBian's side, they attempted to contact the hacker, sending messages to the wallet in hopes of negotiating asset recovery and offering a reward.

This incident serves as an important reminder of the significance of security in the cryptocurrency world and highlights the complexity and mystery of cases related to digital assets. #scam
