Seven years in the cryptocurrency world have been fraught with absurdity and fraud. I have seen 'air coins' with white papers that are grandiose, where team backgrounds are fabricated as a norm; a certain project claimed to 'raise chickens with blockchain' and after raising tens of millions, the founder vanished with the funds; I have also encountered 'exchanges' that falsified trading volumes, where K-line charts were drawn solely by robots, and when retail investors bought in at high positions, the big players had long quietly exited. In the DeFi boom, 'meme projects' proliferate by the hundreds daily, with frequent code vulnerabilities, leading to a 'run fast' game that leaves countless people with nothing. The most ironic part is that on the eve of the collapse, the community is still filled with the frenzied shouts of 'believers', and when the truth is revealed, all that remains is a field of feathers and administrators who have blacklisted and fled.
Scams come in endless varieties: fake exchanges, fake wallets, fake customer service, even fake 'Satoshi Nakamoto'. Some people use 'private placements' to raise funds, while others act as 'trading mentors' to recruit and exploit novices. Even more absurdly, Ponzi schemes disguise themselves as 'metaverse' projects, with aunties rushing to participate, ultimately losing even their principal. Behind these farces lies the boundless amplification of human greed and ignorance, while the lag in regulation and the wild growth of the industry provide a breeding ground for scams.
Seven years of lessons are deeply etched in my memory: technology can be faked, consensus can be manipulated, but risks always exist. In the bull market revelry, there are 'wealth codes' everywhere; in the winter of the bear market, one realizes that 'code is law' is merely a fairy tale. Now I only believe in two points: first, 'do not invest if you do not understand'; second, 'position reflects human nature'. Stay rational, and restrain your greed! There are no saviors in the cryptocurrency world; the myth of getting rich quickly is often a survivor's bias; the truth of survival is simply: 'do not mistake luck for strength, do not mistake bubbles for the future.'
The experiences and journeys of seven years in the cryptocurrency world have exposed me to the madness of extreme price fluctuations and the absurdity of total collapse. From the cheers when Bitcoin broke $10,000 to the suffocation of the LUNA crash, the market has taught me that bubbles and opportunities always accompany each other. DeFi disrupts traditional finance, and NFTs reconstruct artistic value; each innovation is wrapped in disruption and controversy. The regulatory guillotine always hangs high, yet it cannot completely sever human greed and fear. In a bull market, everyone calls themselves 'HODL', while in a bear market, 'value investing' is everywhere. In the end, I understand that surviving through cycles relies not on luck, but on the humility and restraint that comes from respecting the market. There is nothing new in the cryptocurrency world; only human nature remains eternal.
