What makes you successful in trading?
Many people assume that those who succeed in trading are "smart" individuals with quick reactions, sharp minds, superior technical skills, and a high win rate.
But if you ask me how I managed to survive repeated losses and finally stabilize my account, I'll tell you the most honest truth: I didn't rely on clever trading, but on perseverance.
To be honest, I'm not particularly smart, and I wasn't a particularly good student growing up. I'm just an average person.
I'm not someone who can see through the market at a glance and grasp key points instantly, nor am I someone who learns everything quickly. In fact, when I first entered the industry, I made almost all the common mistakes, including frequent trading, heavy betting, chasing rising and falling prices, and not setting stop-loss orders.
During the most difficult times, the first thing I did every morning was open my account. I felt like a gambler: afraid, but also eager to check; and checking only made me more irritated.
After several consecutive stop-losses, I felt completely drained. Food had no taste, and nothing seemed to interest me. That state of mind was so tormenting that I briefly considered giving up trading.
I stopped trading for a while, but eventually picked it up again and persevered. Eventually, I got results. Trading, like the game of chance, requires a steady mindset, learning from experience, identifying opportunities, and being decisive when necessary. Trade sparingly, and focus on getting results.
