📢📢📢 The Problem with Binance Alpha Points: Gatekeeping Web3 Access While Binance Alpha Points are marketed as a way to reward loyal users and promote participation in Web3 projects, the reality tells a different story. The system increasingly feels like a barrier rather than a bridge, especially for regular users who don’t have deep pockets or the time to constantly trade or hold high-value assets. Here’s the issue: 1. Unrealistic Requirements Many users are unable to accumulate the Alpha Points needed to qualify for exclusive Token Generation Events (TGEs). Holding thousands of dollars in specific tokens or trading frequently just to earn enough points is simply not feasible for the average user — especially those new to Web3 or living in regions with lower purchasing power. 2. Missed Opportunities Binance promotes these TGEs and airdrops as democratizing Web3 access, but ironically, they're accessible only to the elite few. Most users are left out of the loop despite being active community members or genuine supporters of the ecosystem. 3. Pay-to-Participate Model The Alpha Points model subtly pushes users toward a pay-to-play system, where early access is determined not by merit, curiosity, or innovation but by capital and volume. This contradicts the foundational principles of Web3: decentralization, inclusion, and equal opportunity. Web3 is supposed to empower, not exclude. Binance has a responsibility to make its Web3 initiatives more inclusive, transparent, and fair. If Alpha Points continue to act as a gatekeeping tool, it risks alienating the very community it claims to be building for.
