Donald Trump said Russia’s economy is in bad shape and claimed that if oil prices drop $10 more, Putin will be forced to end the war in Ukraine.
“His economy stinks,” Trump said on CNBC.
Trump believes Russia’s war depends on oil money. If the money stops, so does the war.
⚡ Putin hasn’t responded, but Dmitry Medvedev (his ally) fired back, saying Trump’s threats are dangerous and won’t be taken seriously.
🔥 What Trump is doing:
Cut his Ukraine peace deadline to less than 2 weeks
Threatened big tariffs on countries trading with Russia
Ordered 2 U.S. nuclear submarines to move near Russian waters
He even criticized India for buying cheap Russian oil and reselling it. Now, he says, tariffs on India could go way up.
📉 Meanwhile in Russia:
Oil prices dropped again
Russia’s income from oil & gas is falling fast
Inflation is up, and growth is slowing
Putin admitted the economy is in trouble
But still, Russia isn’t backing down, and Putin hasn’t responded directly to Trump — at all.
