Solana has begun shipping the second generation of Seeker crypto smartphones, developed by Solana Mobile. The device, which runs on Android, includes a built-in crypto wallet, storage for private keys, and a decentralized Web3 app store. Early customers are already receiving devices, which were priced at $500 for early buyers. Unlike the first device, Saga, which did not see much demand, Seeker is showing strong results — over 150,000 devices were sold during the pre-order phase. As part of the launch, there is also a plan to launch the SKR token — the native asset of the ecosystem. Users have found that cryptocurrencies, including the meme coin BONK, which grew nearly 100 times in 2023, have started to arrive in the wallets of the devices. This has caused a stir, and on the secondary market, the price of the devices reached $2-5 thousand. Despite a slight decrease in the Solana (SOL) price, interest in crypto smartphones is growing, highlighting the trend of integrating blockchain technologies into mobile devices.
