The British man plans to convert the missing bitcoins into virtual tokens
According to reports, British IT man James Howells stated that for the past 12 years he has attempted various ways to communicate with Newport City Council, including public proposals, offering revenue sharing, mediation, legal action, and even formally proposing to return over £25 million. Although these bitcoins are worth $1 billion, the other party has ignored all proposals. They hope he will give up, but he will no longer seek permission. Therefore, he plans to tokenize the 8,000 bitcoins in his entire wallet, converting them into 80 billion Ceiniog Coins (INI), with each INI matching the price of 1 bitcoin satoshi. The project is based on the Bitcoin network, utilizes OP_RETURN technology, and supports Stacks, Runes, and Ordinals protocols, with an expected launch by the end of 2025. Earlier, James Howells accidentally discarded a hard drive containing 8,000 bitcoins and has made multiple attempts to search for the hard drive at the local landfill.
