According to BlockBeats, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is examining the possibility of allowing certain registered futures trading platforms to list leveraged digital assets, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. CFTC Acting Chair Caroline Pham stated that the commission could adopt a clear and straightforward solution. She referenced her March column, suggesting that the agency could use its exemption authority to permit some companies to operate outside current regulations, which currently restrict futures trading platforms to listing only derivative products.

The CFTC is now seeking public feedback on the trading of crypto asset spot contracts on registered futures trading platforms. The deadline for submitting comments is August 18.
