CoinShares Weekly Report: Global Digital Asset Funds See Net Outflow of $223 Million, First in 15 Weeks

According to the CoinShares weekly report, global digital asset investment products saw a net outflow of $223 million last week, marking the first weekly outflow after 15 consecutive weeks of net inflows.

Although global digital asset funds saw inflows of $883 million at the beginning of last week, this trend reversed on Friday with outflows of over $1 billion. Analysts believe this shift may be a chain reaction to the Federal Reserve's hawkish signals and better-than-expected US economic data.

The analysis also noted that the current slight profit-taking may be understandable, considering the cumulative net inflow of $12.2 billion in the digital asset market over the past 30 days (half of the total inflows this year).

Among all asset classes, Bitcoin (BTC) was most affected by negative sentiment, with a single-week outflow of $404 million, demonstrating its sensitivity to monetary policy changes. Despite this, BTC's cumulative inflows to date have exceeded $20 billion. Meanwhile, despite some selling pressure on Friday, Ethereum still saw its 15th consecutive week of net inflows, reaching nearly $134 million, demonstrating continued market optimism for the asset. XRP and Solana also saw strong investor interest, receiving $31.3 million and $8.8 million in weekly inflows, respectively.

By country/region, capital flows diverged significantly. The US market saw the largest net outflow of $383 million last week, while Germany, Sweden, and Brazil saw weekly outflows of $35.5 million, $33.3 million, and $12.8 million, respectively. Hong Kong, Switzerland, and Canada saw net outflows of $170 million, $52.4 million, and $12.4 million, respectively.

In summary, while weekly analysis suggests this may simply be a typical profit-taking reaction, especially given the significant cumulative inflows, coupled with the Federal Reserve's hawkish signals and better-than-expected economic data, subtle shifts in market sentiment cannot be ignored.

In the next few weeks, it will be worth the market's continued observation whether the global crypto derivatives market will continue to see inflows after a brief pause, or enter a period of capital rotation.
