"It is not dangerous for you, but it is for other spiders"
The Pholcus phalangioides, known as the long-legged spider, commonly inhabits corners of houses and basements. Despite its fragile appearance, it is an effective hunter, capable of capturing insects and even larger spiders, such as the feared Loxosceles. It weaves a messy web and hangs upside down while waiting for its prey. When it feels threatened, it quickly shakes its web to disorient potential predators. Although its venom is real, it is harmless to humans. Its presence, in fact, can benefit the natural control of pests in domestic environments.
