India has surpassed China in smartphone exports to the USA
In the second quarter, Indian devices accounted for 44% of American smartphone imports – up from 13% last year.
At the same time, China's share fell from 61% to 25%, while Vietnam surpassed it with a figure of 30%.
The main driver of change is Apple's rapid shift of production to India amid trade tensions with China.
Despite the changes, Apple still relies on Chinese infrastructure for premium models.
