The State Duma of the Russian Federation noted a significant increase in the number of officially registered miners, which has more than tripled in the last six months. Deputy Alexey Nechaev emphasized that this became possible thanks to the adoption of the mining law in the fall of 2023. Now, there are already more than 1000 companies in the registry that pay taxes and develop the industry.
Nechaev noted that the legalization of mining not only helped bring the industry out of the shadow sector but also led to the cessation of problems with power supply interruptions. This year, miners invested 5 billion rubles in the development of artificial intelligence, which also positively affects the country's economy.
Despite the growth, in some regions of Russia, where there is an energy deficit, there are restrictions on mining, and in some places, a complete ban will last until 2031.
📊 According to the Association of Industrial Miners, Russia consistently ranks second in the world in terms of Bitcoin mining volume, and its share of the global hashrate is about 16.6%.
