CHINA 🇨🇳: SHENZHEN USES INTELLIGENT DRONES TO MONITOR ROADS
In Shenzhen, a large city in China, the police are now using drones that fly on their own to spot people who don't obey traffic rules. These small flying devices have very powerful cameras and artificial intelligence that allows them to see if someone is speeding, crossing recklessly, or doing dangerous things. As soon as they see a problem, they immediately send the information to the authorities.
When it rains or is windy, these drones do not malfunction: they take shelter in small special stations set up near the roads. There, they recharge very quickly and wait for the weather to improve before taking off again.
So far, Shenzhen has deployed eight teams of these drones, which mainly monitor near schools to protect children. But some people wonder if it's a good idea to have drones filming everything all the time. Does it go too far? On one hand, it can make roads safer, but on the other hand, are we being watched too much?
