The Hummingbird and the Golden Tree
Once upon a time, there was a little hummingbird named Kiri who lived in a jungle surrounded by animals that only thought about surviving day by day. While the monkeys ate all the bananas in an instant and the jaguars slept after hunting, Kiri observed in silence. One day, flying through a forbidden area of the jungle, he discovered an old tree covered in golden leaves. The tree said to him: “Only those who learn to save and sow will be able to reap my eternal fruit.”
Kiri returned and began to save drops of nectar, hiding them in strategic places, while learning to exchange some for rare seeds. The other animals mocked him: “Why save? Eat and enjoy!”. But Kiri persisted, patient and focused.
Months went by. A severe drought hit the jungle. The animals, desperate, ran around without finding food. But Kiri, with his well-sown and multiplied reserves, could now feed many… and charge fairly for it. Soon everyone started to imitate his strategy.
Moral:
He who saves learns. He who invests grows.
