Impressive Art Initiatives, Even At Non-Art Events

When it comes to categorizing events and meetups, especially within blockchain-based communities, we often see a divide between developer meetups and those dedicated to the arts. Developers tend to focus on infrastructure, protocol upgrades, tooling, and the mechanics of building on Tezos. The art communities lean into exhibiting the creativity, celebrating the culture, and exploring the possibilities of digital art.

For years, TezDev has stood firmly in the developer camp, offering a space for builders to connect, collaborate, and showcase developments across the Tezos ecosystem. This year, TezDev stepped it up to another level. For the first time, a large curated art exhibition was included in the official TezDev programming. It was a meaningful and impressive addition that acknowledged the art community’s contributions to Tezos.

“This is the first year where we actually have an art exhibition at TezDev, and we are ending TezDev with art because art means a lot to our chain. Digital art has found a home on Tezos.”  —  Alex Liu, Tezos Commons

Past, Present, Future: The Tezos Art Story

After a day of development-focused panels and presentations, TezDev concluded with a series of art-focused programs, including a keynote titled “Art on Tezos: Past, Present, Future.”

The panel was organized by Aleksandra Art (Head of Arts at Trilitech), and featured special guests: Brian McAlister , NFT Protector (co-founders of Objkt), Ganbrood and Michael Zancan (artists that mint on Tezos).

A wide range of topics centered on the evolution of art on Tezos were discussed. From the early days of experimentation to the more recent innovations shaping the ecosystem today. NFT Protector and Brian McAlister shared insights into how Objkt continues to expand its support for artists through new features and incentives. They highlighted the launch of Objkt Galleries, a tool that allows users to curate personalized exhibitions directly on the marketplace, as well as the introduction of Art Packs, a gamified incentive that bundles collectible art in a way that encourages both discovery and patronage.

Ganbrood, known for his surreal AI-assisted compositions, spoke about his creative process and how Tezos has enabled a new kind of visibility and connection with collectors. Zancan, one of the most collected generative artists in the ecosystem, reflected on his journey and shared details about his latest project, “Tree_Line”, a collection that bridges digital and physical formats through a partnership with Bitforms Gallery. Their stories underscored how Tezos has not only become a home for experimental digital art, but also a platform where artists can thrive, innovate, and grow.

The panel offered a well-rounded look at how far Tezos has come as a cultural layer and creative network. You can watch the full recording of the talk here. The art panel begins around the 05:45:00 mark.

The 360° Immersive Exhibition

One of the most memorable moments of TezDev 2025 was the, “5x5: Artists Curating Artists”, 360° immersive experience, first exhibited by Cyberformsart on Objkt. As guests entered the exhibition space, they were met with floor-to-ceiling screens wrapped around the room, creating a seamless and impactful visual experience. Artwork flowed in continuous motion, filling the space with creative energy. It was a fully immersive encounter with the possibilities of what art can be when housed digitally on Tezos.

The display became a visual conversation between artists and builders. Developers who had spent the day discussing smart contracts and scalability suddenly found themselves surrounded by works minted on the very infrastructure they had helped to create and maintain. It served as a heart-warming reminder, that behind the Tezos infrastructure is a living and breathing tapestry to discover, created by artists around the world who are eager to utilize the tools they are given.

As Aleksandra Art noted during the panel:

“Arts on Tezos programming is the leading programming across all blockchains.”

In a room full of creators and coders, with walls lit up with art, that didn’t feel like a claim. It was reality.

Showcasing the Tezos Logo Remix Challenge

Although the official Tezos logo has only been updated once, the community has reimagined it countless times. At TezDev 2025, selected artists from the recent Tezos Logo Remix Challenge were invited to present their interpretations of the logo on the big screen. This showcase celebrated the creative freedom of digital art including the generative techniques that continue to define a significant part of the Tezos art scene.

The Bond Between Tech and Art on Tezos

What happened at TezDev 2025 served as a turning point that brought two core pillars of the Tezos ecosystem, tech and art, into the same room for a proper celebration of what makes Tezos special.

As artist Goldcat shared from her first-hand experience at TezDev:

“I was surprised to find out that this was the first time Tezos was showing art at the conference. However, attending it made me realize how much more Tezos is than just its art scene. A good eye-opener.

@cyberformsart and @objktcom did such a good job with the 360° immersive exhibition. All of a sudden this huge room full of networking devs was lit up with the most wonderful artworks and you could feel the energy shifting. The enormous screens that ran seamlessly from wall to wall were the perfect reflection of how profound our art scene truly is. You couldn’t ignore it if you tried.”

Builders, artists, collectors, and curators are all part of the same Tezos network, playing a significant role in the development of it’s tech and culture.

At TezDev 2025, artists had their eyes opened to the tech, devs had their eyes opened to the art, and Tezos shined brighter than ever. The presence of art absolutely enhanced the event this year. It was really nice to see everything I love about Tezos represented at one all-inclusive event. Hope to see you at TezDev 2026!
