Kinda Lucky Lindy crossed the finish line at Pocono Downs today to a muted roar, one amplified across the digital airwaves of social media.
The victory marked a milestone for Big Red Zoooming Bye, the equine cryptocurrency collective that is fractionalizing racehorse ownership under the guidance of trainer Travis Alexander. The group came together across platforms (X, Telegram, YouTube, and Arena) to stream their 10-year-old gelding’s latest triumph. And what a win it was.
Since changing ownership in October, Kinda Lucky Lindy has steadily built momentum, but today's race posed his toughest challenge yet. The field featured two competitors with experience in the prestigious John Brennan Trotting Series, another who had competed at the Open level, and others dropping in class with strong times to their name.
Driver Ridge Warren delivered a composed, tactical drive, helping Kinda Lucky Lindy overcome the odds. The performance left the Big Red Zoooming Bye ownership group elated and admittedly stunned, by the result.
It hasn’t been a smooth road. After his acquisition last year, Lucky struggled to finish out the mile and was later diagnosed as needing tie-back surgery, forcing a significant layoff. His return at Yonkers proved difficult, with the tight half-mile track not suiting his style.
But at Pocono Downs, the tide turned. In his last four starts at the Pennsylvania track, he has now recorded two wins and two placings, a remarkable resurgence.
The win isn’t just a triumph for the horse, but a statement from a new breed of racing enthusiasts. Big Red Zoooming Bye isn't here to just take part, they’re here to take over.
