Ron Burke Aims for Historic Milestone at Meadowlands This Weekend
Trainer Ron Burke heads into this weekend’s Standardbred racing with the opportunity to accomplish a rare and impressive feat, breaking a track record for the third consecutive weekend.
Burke’s stable has been in exceptional form, with two recent performances that have captured the attention of the racing world.
Two weeks ago at Woodbine, Burke’s charge, Louprint (by Sweet Lou), dominated the North America Cup, posting a remarkable 1:47.1 winning time. This victory solidified Louprint as a major contender and the favorite for the prestigious Meadowlands Pace.
The following weekend, Burke’s stable continued its winning streak, this time at The Meadows in Pennsylvania. Ronnie Wrenn, who had also partnered with Louprint, drove Birthday to the second-fastest time ever at the track, setting a new record for older pacers with a time of 1:47.4, all without pulling the earplugs!
Looking ahead, Burke’s hopes of continuing this remarkable run center around the Meadowlands this weekend.
The horses to watch are:
• Race 4: M-M’s Dream (Six Pack)
• Race 8: Bythemissal (Brower)
• Race 9: Chapercaz (Crawford)
With each of these horses aiming for a breakthrough performance, Burke and his team are poised to achieve what many would consider the unthinkable.
