Trump and Powell, these two old men who add up to nearly 200 years old, are at it again. The possibility of an interest rate cut in July may not be that simple, after all, everyone cares about their image. As mentioned yesterday, although several Federal Reserve members nominated by Trump support the interest rate cut in July, there are only a total of 3 people who have spoken out. While this does not mean that those who have not spoken out necessarily disagree with the cut, if the previous dot plot is not a smokescreen, the proportion of personnel supporting the rate cut is indeed not that large.
I still lean towards needing some external reason as a trigger point, so that everyone feels it is very reasonable and there are ways to step down before the rate cut, and today the seemingly ended yet unresolved Israel-Palestine conflict appears to fit this trigger point quite well.
