According to PANews, Matter Labs has introduced a new zero-knowledge prover named 'Airbender' at the Permissionless Conference. The prover is built on the RISC-V architecture and can verify Ethereum blocks in 35 seconds using a single GPU, significantly faster than similar products. The CEO of Matter Labs stated that this advancement could reduce transaction costs to less than one cent, making it suitable for high-frequency trading, micro-payments, and decentralized social applications. Although Airbender is in its initial launch phase, Matter Labs has released an application for developers to test the technology. If everything proceeds as planned and the ZKsync governance process is approved, Airbender will be integrated into the protocol upgrade by late summer this year.
