On June 19, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed strong interest in cryptocurrency during a White House lunch meeting with Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir.
According to a statement from the Pakistan military's public relations department ISPR, both sides discussed ways to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, including trade, economic development, mineral resources, artificial intelligence, energy, cryptocurrency, and emerging technologies.
South Asian analyst Michael Kugelman stated that Trump has a 'deep personal interest' in discussing cryptocurrency, and that the U.S. and Pakistan have already collaborated on key minerals, cryptocurrency, and counter-terrorism.
Pakistan is considering several cryptocurrency development plans, including establishing Bitcoin reserves. Additionally, Pakistan has committed to providing 2000 megawatts of excess power for Bitcoin mining and artificial intelligence data centers.
